What is

    Healthy Start?

Doctors, nurses and other area health care professionals join together to evaluate each pregnancy to help expectant moms have healthier babies, reduce infant mortality and improve the overall health and development of Florida's children. Each mom-to-be is screened to determine the types of services that she might need for her baby's HEALTHY START in life.

Ask your doctor for your screening results. If you qualify, a Healthy Start Care Coordinator will contact you.

The Care Coordinator, working with a network of area providers, makes sure mom and baby receive the services they need.

The enthusiasm, energy and expertise of Healthy Start Coalition members are key to the success of the Healthy Start Program. Coalition members including participants, moms, housewives, medical providers and other professionals meet regularly and help to identify and address problems like access to care, teenage pregnancy and the ability to pay for care.

Don't let your time and talent go to waste! Experience the rewards of being involved. Become
a Coalition member and help others get a
